Di(hydrogenated tallowalkyl) methyl amines(MADHT) can react with methyl chloride and other quaternized raw materials to form double-chain quaternary ammonium salt D1821, which can be used as a bactericide, softener, emulsifier and surfactant in industries such as pigments, dyes, mineral flotation, water treatment, oil fields, textiles, daily chemicals, bentonite, etc..

Di(hydrogenated tallowalkyl) methyl amines(MADHT) can also react with dimethyl sulfate and diethyl sulfate to form Gemini quaternary ammonium salt.
